The New Messianic Version
Most English Bibles replace God's personal names with titles — LORD where the Hebrew says Yehovah, God where it says Elohim. The NMV puts the names back, so you read what the writers actually wrote.

Open almost any English Bible to Exodus 3:14. God tells Moses His name — I AM — and then translators spend the next 929 chapters replacing it. LORD in small caps. GOD in small caps. Titles where the Hebrew has a person.
It's not a conspiracy. It's a 400-year-old tradition. But the effect is the same: you can read the Bible cover to cover and never once encounter the name God gave Himself — or see how often the God who shows up, speaks, and is seen in the Old Testament is Jesus before Bethlehem.
The NMV was translated to fix exactly that — and to go one step further. Because those words aren't really names at all. They're titles, descriptions, offices, and duties — each assigned to a specific member of the Godhead. Read them that way, and the text itself tells you who is speaking: the Father enthroned, the Son appearing and speaking, the Spirit moving — identified passage by passage.
Yehovah. Elohim. El Shaddai. Adonai. These aren't really names — they're titles, descriptions, offices, and duties, each assigned to a specific member of the Godhead. Other Messianic Bibles put the Hebrew words back into the text and stop there. The NMV translates them the way Scripture uses them: as identifications. The Father enthroned. The Son appearing, speaking, and being seen. The Spirit moving and filling. Passage by passage, the titles tell you exactly who you're dealing with — which is why readers keep finding Jesus all through the Old Testament. The titles were always pointing at Him.
The New Testament writers found Jesus everywhere in the Old Testament. The NMV translates with that same expectation: the Angel of Yehovah, the visible God on the mountain, the "I AM" of Exodus — rendered so the connection is unmistakable. "Before Abraham was, I AM" (John 8:58) lands differently when you've read Exodus 3:14 with the name intact.
From Genesis to Revelation, Scripture follows the pattern of an ancient Jewish wedding — the bride price, the betrothal, the bridegroom's departure, the sudden return. The NMV's translation choices keep that thread visible, so the whole Bible reads as one story instead of 66 disconnected books.

The published New Messianic Version is a proof of concept, not a full translation — it proves the principles: English readers can see God's names the way the Hebrew and Greek actually have them, and see Jesus in the Old Testament the way the apostles did.
The proof-of-concept edition is in readers' hands today. The next mountain is a second edition: a full translation built on the research behind Jesus: The God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob. That's what donations fund — learn more.
